There’s nothing better to dress up your yard than some colorful flowers in just the right places. The only problem that I have sometimes is that there are so many types, sizes, colors, and the list goes on and on…
Luckily one of our favorite places to find awesome flowers, plants, and lawn decor is Green Gardens Nursery off Cass Street in Pacific Beach, California. Their team there is very helpful, and they were nice enough to let us have some fun taking pictures as we looked at all of their beautiful flowers.
What I really like about Green Gardens is that it is a local family owned and operated business here in Pacific Beach, and they’ve been here for over 30 years.
Their team is awesome by the way. There’s something really nice about having someone ask you about what types of flowers you already have, what type of look you are hoping to achieve, and is knowledgeable enough to recommend the right types of plants that will not only look good together but will also match your watering schedules and seasonal compatibilities.
Not only did we have help from the guys and girls at Green Gardens, we also made a few more “wild” types of friends. As I was admiring some beautiful purple flowers, I noticed a beautiful honeybee taking a refreshing drink after a tough day pollinating. I was surprised that I didn’t scare her when I got that close to take a picture.
As I looked up from the beautiful bee, I noticed a pair of butterflies dancing together in the wind. As hard as I tried to catch a picture of them, I just couldn’t keep up with their speed. Maybe they were just camera shy, but I wish I would have been able to capture that beautiful moment.
Luckily, however, I was able to catch a picture of a single butterfly who waited patiently as I moved in for the perfect shot. Either this one wasn’t camera shy, or she was already tired from a long day of dancing in the sun.
For this sunny Saturday afternoon shopping for flowers, I decided to wear a Kate Spade Wrap Dress. This one has the Tiger Lily print (which I thought was fun); and as everyone knows, pink is one of my favorite colors. Not only is this particular dress perfect for summer because it’s colorful print and cool to the touch fabric, it also a “real” wrap dress. What I love about wrap dresses in general and this one in particular, is that you can really adjust the fit at the waist to match your body and accentuate your waist as much as you like.
I’m sure you know by now, that I’m a big fan of Kate Spade and especially their dresses. This Kate Spade Wrap Dress (especially with the Tiger Lily print) fits right up there with my list of favorites for a casual but pretty way to dress up your day. Dressed up with heals or down with a comfy pair of flip flops; shopping for flowers or chasing butterflies, you’ll feel and look great in this dress.
